A Humanisitic approach acknowledges the personal integrity of every individual and a desire for personal growth. It responds to our need to take responsibility for ourselves and respects the many transitions and changes that happen in life.I have experience of therapeutic traditions such as Gestalt Therapy and Formative Psychology and will use my wide training and experiences to enhance and complement my work with you.
qualifications and experince
As an Associate Member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy www.bacp.co.uk I am bound by its ethical framework for Good Practice in Counselling and Psychotherapy. Our work together is confidential.
I have over 8 years experience in the field of psychotherapy and personal development with training in Counselling and a Post Graduate Certificate in Psychotherapy (2002) from Spectrum, a centre for humanistic psychology and UKCP accredited training institution.
I worked for the last 3 years as a personal development coach with young people in a Hackney Secondary School for The Hanover Foundations. I have experience of working with teenagers and the family and friends of drug users (ADFAM). As a parent with two children I am aware of the many issues involved in parenting and the effect and impact being a parent can have on our lives.
I hold a BA (Hons) in Social Anthropology from the University of Sussex (1990) and a Post Graduate Certificate in Primary Education from the Institute of Education (1995) and worked as a teacher in London for many years before training as a psychotherapist.
